Summary: A large Union meeting was held in Boonsboro at which J. M. Kilgour, M. Cooper and J. Wooten, Esq. of Frederick spoke. A Douglas ratification meeting was held in Hagerstown at which Col. Wm. P. Maulsby of Frederick and J. D. Bennett, Esq. of Hagerstown spoke. The Cumberland Alleganian in Allegany County and the Evening Star in Baltimore have both endorsed the Douglas-Johnson ticket.

Summary: Proceedings and results of a meeting of the friends of the Constitution and Union who gathered in Middletown to form a Union Club. Stephen R. Bowlus was elected president. Those assembled said that the candidacy of Bell and Everett best represented their views because the other 3 major candidates were "sectional" ones. "The Union, the Constitution and Enforcement of the Laws" is the platform which the group supports and they heartily endorse Bell and Everett, the choice of the National Union Convention held in Baltimore in May.

Summary: Proceedings of a meeting of the "democracy" of this district at the Academy in "pursuance of a call of the central Committee of Frederick county." Delegates were appointed to the county Convention in Frederick on the 11th. The object is to "unite the democracy of the State." An aim is to bring about a union of all the conservative elements for the defeat of the sectional disunion of the Republican party, and endorsing Breckinridge and Lane as the representatives of the democratic principles and the nominees of the National Democratic Party."
