Summary: The Constitutional Union Party of the Catoctin District was held at Wolfesville on the 14th inst. H. H. Mullen was elected chairman. The men appointed to the Union Central Committee of Frederick County were: Samuel Maugens, Noah Eccard, Jno. D. English, D. W. Blickenstaff, and John W. Hoover. A resolution was made that every loyal voter from Catoctin District can be a delegate to the Union County nominating convention in Frederick.

Summary: Proceedings of a meeting of the loyal citizens of the Hauvers District at Sabillasville. Jacob F. Miller was elected chairman. All voters of the district opposed to secession and in favor of the Union can be delegates to the convention in Frederick on Sept. 28th. A number of resolutions were passed concerning attitudes toward the war. It was also resolved to have the proceedings of the meeting published in county newspapers favorable to preservation of the Union.

The following men were chosen the represent the district at the Union County Convention to meet in Frederick on Sept. 28th: Jacob Motter, William Gardner, Dr. Robert L. Annan, Samuel Maxwell and Joshua Rowe. A number of resolutions were made by Col. Robert Annan which were unanimously adopted. The proceedings were signed by Jacob Motter, President.
