"Transportation" to Middletown

Summary

The Citizens notes that transportation will be provided for men of "the Fred Douglas party" to attend a meeting in Middletown, to be paid for by taxpayers, since Congress voted itself a raise,spends 20 million a year on the Freedman's Bureau, and paid Negroes bigger bounties than white soldiers..
