County Bonds

Summary

A description of the ten classes of Frederick County bonds to be offered to raise money to build a new court house in Frederick to replace the old one destroyed by secessionists. Bonds will be in sums ranging between $100 and $1,000 paying the legal interest rate. They mature annually. The paper thinks the security of the investment will invite lots of bidders. Also announced is an increase in taxes of three cents per hundred dollars of assessable property for the purpose of rebuilding the courthouse, "but this has been diminished by one-half by the economy of the County Commissioners."
