Colored Masonic Procession
Summary
A procession by "the colored Masons of this town, together with a number of their brethren from other places" marched in Hagerstown. The Chief Marshal was Samuel Nimmy. They "made quite a creditable appearance, marching well and observing all the rules of decorum which impart respect and dignity to such occasions." Afterward, addresses were given at Bethel Church by Rev. Nicholson, Hammond and Kees and there was "fine entertainment" in the basement of the church.
