The Legislature
Summary
The legislature of Maryland (called "this corrupt body" by the paper) is currently meeting and resolving little for the public; instead, it seems to be creating resolutions and tending to secession. It will send delegations to the governors of Virginia and Pennsylvania. The paper supposes the delegations will be well-funded at the expense of taxpayers as this session of the MD legislature is very liberal with supplying money. A bill to authorize the Frederick Co. commissioners to levy $40,000 to rebuild the Court House was passed.
