Antietam National Cemetery

Summary

At a meeting of the Trustees of Antietam National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., they resolved to purchase adjacent land to expand the cemetery so that Confederate dead buried on the soil of Maryland may be reinterred there. The trustees ask the Southern states to make the necessary appropriations to aid in the effort. Dr. A. A. Biggs is re-elected General Superintendent of the cemetery and Thos. A. Boullt (sp?) will continue as secretary/treasurer.
