MILITARY ENCAMPMENT.
The gentlemen interested in the encampment met at the office of Maj. Ulysses Hobbs, on Saturday last at 2 o’clock P.M. All the companies of the county were represented except the Linganore Guards and the Union Riflemen. The report of the committee on tents &c, was received. The Committee read a letter from the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, stating that it would be impossible for Pennsylvania to make a loan of her tents, because in use by her own soldiery. The convention determined to await further information in regard to tents until Saturday the 21st day of July, and if by that time no loan of tents can be effected, the convention will then consider the propriety of substituting a Grand Military Parade for the Encampment, which may be rendered impossible by the failure to secure tents. By order.
