They Couldn't Ratify

Summary

Examiner reports on attempt to hold a Breckinridge and Lane Ratification meeting in Frederick was a failure. About 250 people showed up at a meeting called by E. L. Lowe and John Ritchie, Electors, and B. T. Johnson, Delegate to the Charleston Convention, but those who attended were mainly Bell/Everett supporters. Attempt made to adopt resolutions at meeting but this failed. Meeting adjourned late in evening and not resumed the next day.
