Lists the names of the new appointments and promotions made by Gov. Hicks to the 13th(?) Regiment Maryland Militia. Vacancies in field and staff officers of Maryland Militia being rapidly filled in light of "military ardor now so rife in this state."

MILITARY APPOINTMENTS. – His Excellency Gov. Hicks, in deference to the recommendation of Major Gen. Kimmell, has made the following appointments and promotions in the 18th[?] Regiment _. _., viz: Lieut Col. Z. T. Wind___, to be Colonel; Major John Thomas, Jr., to be Lieutenant Colonel; William E. Salmon, Esq., appointed Major, and Dr. Isaac N. Wood, Surgeon. Vacancies in the Field and Staff officers of the Maryland Militia are being rapidly filled, inconsequence of the military ardor now so rife in the State.
