Summary
Killing of Joseph Shaw, editor of "Maryland Democrat" newspaper in Westminster, by group of armed citizens including Henry Bell. Shaw had been ordered out of town for position he had taken against the Republican administration, but returned to local hotel. Confrontation occurred and Shaw was shot.
