Summary
Frederick citizens celebrate Lee's surrender to Grant. Bells rang; youths lit bonfires and sent up rockets. A 200-gun salute at noon using a battery sent from Harper's Ferry by Gen. Stevenson. Illumination in city at night. Myersville residents also celebrated with illumination and procession.
