Rebel Nominations

Summary

A list of the 'rebel' nominees for various Washington County offices. Some of the nominees "belong to Andy Johnson's Bread and Butter Brigade," and the rest have been rebel sympathizers, some with sons who fought for the South. Several were members of the "Know Nothings." The paper calls this a feeble ticket with men "below the medium standard in strength of intellect, business capacity and personal popularity." "Let our friends organize, and they can sweep this mongrel ticket of conglomerated weakness off the face of the earth."
