Speeches at the Dedication of Antietam Cemetery
Summary
The paper reproduces in full most of the speeches at the dedication of Antietam Cemetery. This includes Maryland Gov. Swann and President Johnson plus Gov. Geary of Pennsylvania and Gov. Fenton of New York. The governor of Maine was present, but no speech is included. The speech of Gov. Bradford of Maryland was too long to include it in full. The speeches of Geary and Fenton were given after the regular arrangements for the dedication had ended but were in response to tremendous calls from the crowd.
