Summary

Gov. Hicks has appointed 5 local men as staff of the 4th Division of the MD Militia - names and positions are listed. That division encompasses all of Allegany and Washington counties and parts of Frederick, Carroll and Baltimore counties. Within the limits there are 3 brigades, 5 regiments of cavalry and 16 regiments of infantry, all under the command of Maj. Gen. Anthony Kimmel.
