Summary
Last Monday a company of Rebel cavalry under Capt. Henderson attempted to invade Harper's Ferry to impress Union men into Rebel service. They were attacked by two companies from the 13th Massachusetts Regiment who crossed the river. 20 Confederate soldiers were captured, 1 killed, and several wounded; 2 Federal soldiers were wounded.

CAPTURE OF REBELS – A report reached this city by the western train yesterday afternoon, that on Monday last a Capt. Henderson’s company of Rebel Cavalry from Halltown, Jefferson county, Vs., made a dash into Harpers Ferry for the purpose of impressing Union men. The movement was observed by the 13th Massachusetts Regiment from the Maryland shore, when two companies dashed off at “double quick,” crossed the river and charged upon the Rebels, capturing 20, killing one and wounding several. Two of the Federal soldiers were wounded.
