Convention of the Six Western Counties of Maryland
Summary
Following the State Union Convention, "a convention of the six Western Counties," including Washington, Frederick, and Carroll, "was held for the purpose of nominating a Commissioner of Public Works." Col. Thos. Hammond of Frederick Co., Chair; Geo. E. Wampler, Sec. John W. Ross, Esq. of Baltimore Co. and Gen. Edw. Shriver of Frederick Co. were nominated; Gen. Shriver elected.
