Summary

"Camp Lamon, Thanksgiving Evening, 1861," a letter from Capt. C. H. Russell, on behalf of Co. A, 1st Regt. (Cavalry), VA Vol., stationed in Funkstown thanking the Ladies Union Relief Association of Funkstown for their warm and comforting "expressions of friendship" shown by a gift package given the company that day (Thanksgiving Day, 1861) of 91 pairs of socks.
