The Bogus Peace Convention
Summary
Last Tuesday the Peace Party Convention assembled in Hagerstown and nominated delegates to a State Convention. Those nominated were George Freaner, Dr. Charles Macgill, J. Horine Weast, Thomas H. Crampton, Capt. David Cushwa and Dr. E.L. Boteler. It passed a number of resolutions in opposition to the war and in favor of the peaceful reconstruction of the Union.
