Summary
Last Saturday a “grand military parade” took place in Benevola, featuring the Union Home Guards of Benevola, commanded by Capt. Fletcher, and the Boonsboro Guards, commanded by Capt. Brining. Strong Union sentiments were expressed. Only a few secessionists were in attendance.
