Republican State Central Committee
Summary
At an April 17, 1867 meeting of the Republican Union State Central Committee it was requested that Baltimore and the counties hold primary assemblages to elect delegates to a State Republican Convention to be held on Baltimore on May 14, and that the primary meetings are open to all citizens regardless of past political affiliations, race or color. The purpose of the Convention is to consider that “best method of guaranteeing to the people a Republican form of Government.”
