“At 10 0’clock A.M. two Confederate cavalrymen dashed up to the City Hotel, the first gray coats we have ever seen---Brad Johnson followed. The army coming in all day. Captain H. Kyd Douglas called this evening, also Archi Drish, Mr. Bell of Leesburg, John Myers of Lexington, Virginia, and others.”
